As we follow in Christ's footsteps, let us grow in love, knowledge and understanding so that our light may shine for all to see

We are a small school which aims to deliver outstanding education in an envi-
ronment that promotes family values, self-confidence, character and respect.

marks

Pupils leave (school) with attainment which is exceptionally high by national standards. Pupils’ attitudes and behaviour, and the care and respect they show to one another, are exemplary. This is an outstanding school.

In general, the aim of the school is to make the children aware of their own abilities and powers, aware of their relationship with and towards others, and capable of reaching their full potential as responsible caring adults

Welcome to Our School

We are extremely proud of all that goes on at SS Peter & Paul Primary school. The children are supported in their learning by dedicated team of staff, parents and Governors.

In the summer of 2006 the School was inspected by OFSTED and the school was graded 'Outstanding'. In the Autumn of 2006 the School had an RE inspection and also achieved 'Outstanding'. To read the OFSTED report please go to the Governors page and click on the 'Report' link.

SS Peter and Paul RC Primary is a school that values standards and achievement. We follow the National Curriculum, which means we teach English, Maths, Science, ICT, History, Geography, Design Technology, Art, Music (taught by a specialist music teacher), Physical Education and Religious Education (Using the Catholic Scheme of Work 'Here I Am'). To find out more about the areas covered in each subject, please visit the Children's section and see the individual class pages.

Our school has not always been on Aberdeen Road. Before it was called SS Peter and Paul, it was called the Pro-Cathedral school (located just off Park Street). Nuns taught at the Pro-Cathedral school and some children went to serve at the 12 O'clock mass. The Year 6 children, who used to be known as Junior 4, even helped out with dinner duties! The school was relocated in 1976.

We have strong links with our Parish Church SS Peter and Paul Cathedral, Pembroke Road, Clifton. We are very fortunate to have regular visits from Canon Robert who celebrates Mass with us.

Our 2013 Admission Policy is now available for consultation. Please click here for detail.

What our parents say

We wanted our child to be encouraged to achieve her best in safe and positive environment. It was important to us that she enjoy her day at school whilst at the same time being encouraged and learn to grow her mind and personality

What our children say

I arrived mid way through Year 4 and immediately loved being here. The children were friendly and welcoming and involved me in their games from the first day. The work is hard, but my teacher has made it fun and I love the trips that he’s organized

What our teachers say

I love being a teacher in our school as we really are one big family! Everyone is so kind and supportive of each other. The highlights of being the Year 6 teacher are definitely the end of year play and camp.

However I also enjoy the day to day banter with the kids! I believe children should leam in a stimulating, fun, safe and happy environment where they are encouraged to reach their full potential. I also like to see the children grow in maturity, independence and confidence to help them prepare for life in Secondary School.
