Foundation Stage Home Learning November 2020

                                    Home Learning

                 Week beginning 23rd November 2020

Hello!

I hope that you have all been keeping well over the weekend. I was so proud of how the children managed on Friday with the unexpected change to the day. I will miss seeing them all in class this week but hope that they will be able to join in with some Zoom activities through the week. I will be sending out details of the sessions on Monday morning. They will take place at 9.30am and 2pm Monday to Thursday and 9.05am and 2pm on Friday so that we can join Star Assembly. They will last around 20 minutes. We will talk about the learning for the day, have some stories and share learning from home. We do also have a nativity to prepare for so I am hoping that we will be able to practise some of our songs too. It will be a busy week!

I have planned a Literacy and Maths activity for you to do with your child as well as some activities based around the story, ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’. Included in the folders are resources that you may find useful to support learning such as flashcards and games as well as links to websites. Please note that some links take you to You Tube videos where there may be adverts so supervision when watching these is advised. There are also a number of resources that would work just as well being drawn out or written rather than printed, for example the phonics/ numeral flashcards, to save on printing.

I would like the children to do the Literacy and Maths activities planned. Each lesson should last around 15-20 minutes. The sessions build on things we have been learning in class as well as introducing new learning. The activities linked to the story support the other areas of the Early Years Foundation Curriculum. These activities can be worked on until we return to school and they don’t all have to be completed but it would be nice if the children could do some and share with each other during the zoom sessions. If you have any questions or problems accessing the resources, please contact the school via email and I will get back to you.

Have fun learning and I look forward to seeing you soon.
